TMP Academy Staff Housing
The Move Project is building a new staff housing complex to accommodate the Academy staff which will provide safe and affordable housing. Each new unit will be a five room studio style apartment housing structure and when constructed will be move in ready. This new housing will help provide safe and affordable housing for the staff and will remove the need for unsafe transportation to and from school. Onsite staff housing will also ensure the staff is in close proximity to provide the students with focused instructional support. TMP Academy Operation
It costs roughly $51,000 each year to operate The Move Project Academy and that is largely funded by donations right through this website. We serve over 170 kids and employ 20 full-time staff. You can help keep education alive in Tsipasi by becoming a member of our TMP Giving Community right here
Clean Water Well in Tsipasi
Providing the community of Tsipasi with clean water was our first step in joining hands with the village and helping them break the cycle of poverty. Before the clean water well was installed, the people of Tsipasi had to walk nearly a mile to contaminated water, which they would then have to spend hours treating on their own. After the well was established, Tsipasi created a committee to oversee and maintain the well to ensure that its access to clean water stayed viable.
TMP Academy Expansion
The Move Project Academy is building a new wing to accommodate the growth and educational development of our student population. The new addition will be a seven room structure with five classrooms, one library, and one computer lab, pending electricity becomes available in the village. This new wing will help provide adequate learning space for the children and allow our staff to provide more focused instruction by grade level. Community Farm
The community of Tsipasi donated 2 acres of land for a community farm to benefit TMP Academy’s meal program. Members of the community assist TMP Academy in planting, weeding, harvesting, and other general maintenance of the land. Any produce not utilized by the TMP Academy meal program is given to those that assist in maintenance for their personal use and needs
Toilet/Washroom Facility
To become certified with the Ghana Education Services, we funded the creation of a new toilet and washroom facility that included several toilet rooms and met strict sanitation requirements to ensure the health and safety of our students and staff.
Water Connection for TMP Academy
We were able to connect the TMP Academy to the main water line for school use. This allows the school to use it for free and the greater community for a small fee that covers the cost of water usage only. This project allowed water to be obtained for cooking, cleaning, and drinking and greatly improved water access for the people TMP Academy serves.
