Hello TMP community! We are pausing to reflect on 2024 and the amazing work we’ve been able to accomplish together.
Before we dive in we have to start with the most important thing:

Your time and your resources are both valuable assets, and the fact that you’d use them to come alongside The Move Project and join us the work of breaking the cycle of poverty one project at a time means a great deal to us.
The Move Project Academy had a relatively humble beginning as we started with just a few rooms and a small group of kids. But the audacity of the dream to bring formal education to Tsipasi, Ghana for the first time ever was met with generosity from our giving community and incredible buy-in from the Tsipasi community as families trusted us enough to send their kids to school.
The Move Project Academy
The initial expansion included the buildout of a 7-room/5-classroom structure that nearly doubled our capacity. The expansion also included a library and a computer lab which was another first for the area!
In the past several years, Tsipasi has been provided clean drinking water which they’d previously never had access to. They then helped us build TMP Academy, introducing formal education for the first time ever. And more recently, the school was put on the electric grid which helped as we integrated technology into their learning environment by way of the computer lab and laptops for our teachers!
All of this while also establishing the first every community farm which helps subsidize the school’s meal program and provide the local community access to supplemental produce.
It’s amazing how far we’ve come, one project at a time.
2024
In the past year alone, we’ve:
hired two additional teachers to keep up with the school’s growth and our commitment to providing best in class education
created a Creche (kindergarten) building to provide dedicated space to our youngest students
installed a toilet and washroom facility to upgrade our facilities and provide high quality sanitation services for our kids and staff, while also ensuring compliance with Ghana’s school certification requirements

As exciting as it is to reflect on how far we’ve come and what we’ve accomplished over the past few years, and especially in 2024, we wanted to share a quick note about our primary focus for 2025, teacher housing.
Teacher housing
The Move Project is building a new staff housing complex to accommodate the Academy staff which will provide safe and affordable housing. Each new unit will be a five room studio style apartment housing structure and when constructed will be move in ready. This new housing will help provide safe and affordable housing for the staff and will remove the need for unsafe transportation to and from school. Onsite staff housing will also ensure the staff is in close proximity to provide the students with focused instructional support.
